Udon Thani Central Bus Station is in the city centre and a few minutes walk from several hotels. The bus terminal is ideally placed for anyone arriving in the city looking for nearby accommodation in view of travelling to another destination the next day or a later date.
For those travelling to accommodation further afield there are samlors (type of tuk tuk) and metered taxis ready and able at the bus station. If you use a samlor it is advised to agree on the fare before boarding the vehicle.

Udon Thani Central Bus Station to Suvarnabhumi International Airport
The Udon Thani to Suvarnabhumi International Airport bus leaves at 21:00. There is only one bus departure each day. The private bus company also operates the Suvarnabhumi Airport to Udon Thani bus service. The ticket office is on the road exiting the bus station and is the orange fronted one shown in the photograph above. A ticket is approximately 480 THB and includes light snacks and water.

Snacks and drinks are sold on the boarding platform and there is a Thai noodle restaurant at the terminal on the entry road. There are two coffee stands with tables and seats, one on the entry road and the other on the exit road. The entry road coffee stand opens in the early hours of the morning and closes down around 06:00. The other coffee stand operates all day. There is a 7 -Eleven store on the left of the bus station as you enter.
For those arriving at Udon Thani bus station with a few hours to pass before re-routing there are plenty of restaurants and snack stalls a short walk away. Exit the bus terminal, turn right, go past the 7 -Eleven store to the end of the road and turn right again onto Prajak Road. Central Plaza Shopping Mall will be in front of you and along Prajak Road there are many bars, restaurants, snack stalls and at the end of the road next to the train station is UD Town Shopping Plaza and night market. There are also bars and restaurants on Soi Sampanthamit (side road off Prajak Road) and the excellent Sampan Fish & Chips as well.
