Biggles Big Band Jazz Fest Udon Thani

Dutch based Biggles Big Band will play a concert at UD Town on Saturday, March 19. The 25-piece jazz orchestra’s appearance in Udon Thani will be the penultimate concert of their Thailand Tour 2016. Biggles Big Band will perform in Dan Sai, Loei Province, on March 17. The tour starts with two Bangkok dates on March 3 & 5 with further concerts in Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Phrae, Sukhothai and Hua Hin.

Biggles Big Band is conducted by Adrie Braat who founded the band in 1985. The jazz orchestra reproduce music from the swing era of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Quincy Jones and perform songs from the likes of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. Singer André Rabini is backed by two quartets of trumpets and trombones, five saxophones, a string quartet, piano, acoustic bass, guitar and drums.

Biggles Big Band Thailand Tour 2016 has been organized in harmony with TEATA (Thai Ecotourism and Adventure Travel Association), TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand) and the Embassy of the Kingdom of The Netherlands. The band have won many plaudits and fans during previous Thailand tours.

The Amsterdam based orchestra first toured Thailand in 2009 and returned in 2010, 2013 and 2015. Throughout their Thailand Tour 2016 the band will be holding a series of music workshops for Thai children.
